Hello and welcome to my site. A personal page for me to blog about my experiences, spur of the moment thoughts, feelings, travel, and etc. I hope you have fun reading my entries as much as I enjoyed writing them. Please feel free to leave your comments and messages.

First of all, I'd like to CONGRATULATE our new batch of RN's!!! I've been for the look out of the November 2009 Nursing Licensure Results because a couple of my friends took the exam as well.

The Philippine Regulatory Commission had finally released the results and a total of 37, 527 out of 94,462 nursing graduates passed the November, 2009 licensure examination.

Every room in our house has a television now. It had to be that way because my family and I couldn't agree on which show to watch whenever we're all together. We'd always end up fighting over the television's remote control. I'm sure a lot of you out there went through the same problem too, so I bet you could just totally imagine what the scenario was like here before. For example, the kids will want to watch cartoons, and then dad would want to watch his game... I in the other hand will want to watch my drama series. But unfortunately, our favorite shows are airing all at the same time. Because of this, I missed a lot of episodes.

For those of you who still suffer the same faith, I have good news for you! Now, you can actually watch your favorite TV show or movie right in the comfort of your own home whenever you want for free with Charter Digital. You could learn more at charter.net/ondemand. They have thousands of shows available for you and your family to enjoy. Watch shows like 30 Rock, the Office, Spongebob, and many more the day right after they air on TV. This will be perfect for children since they're not aware of the TV schedules yet. With Ondemand, they could watch their shows right then and there with just a flip of a finger.

Truly, cable television at its best! Feel free to check their offers through their website. Or get updates and fun extras on Charter’s Facebook page.

I will be venturing into a new challenge this March. I'm planning to take the IELTS exam. I've been looking for a good review center here in Manila by surfing the internet for a few days now. I called my prospect establishments earlier to decide on where to go. For some reason, I couldn't reach most of them. I want to enroll in a review center who really specializes in teaching English... One who doesn't teach about other nursing reviews also. Having qualified foreign teachers are an advantage. I don't know where to start...

Does anybody have any suggestions about this? Your recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thanks so much :)

I took the national licensure exam last June 2007. Fortunately, I passed after just one take. The anxiety really doesn't stop right after the exam itself. I expereienced more agony while waiting for the results. It's so frustrating! During our time, we got the results at the last week of August. We had to wait for almost three months. But you can't blame the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC) for the delay since there's really a big number of exam takers each semester.

I have a couple of friends who were held back a few years because they constantly failed the exam. They have no choice but to take the NLE over and over again until they finally pass. They too were amongst all the nursing graduates who took the exam last November 2009.

It'll be February in a few days, but we still don't have any idea about how they did. So, I took the liberty of researching when the results would come out. PRC claims they will be announcing the test results within this quarter. I think they'll be releasing it pretty soon. One time while I was surfing the internet, I read an article saying that all the test papers are already graded and that PRC are now just encoding the results. I really wish my dear friends would pass. They really deserve it. Everyone's praying for them.

Please feel free to subscribe to my blog if you wish to be updated regarding this matter. I too can't wait. :) Good luck everyone!

Back when I was still studying, I always had extra money from my allowance. I really save up so that I could buy whatever I like. In my case, I love buying clothes and shoes... As I was cleaning my closet, I've realized that I can't fit anything in there anymore. I don't have space for the new stuffs. And the sad part of it is, more than half of all the clothes inside my closet aren't beeing used anymore since they're already out of style.

I'm a pack rat. I can't seem to throw my old things away. Whenever I have the urge to do so, I unconsciously convince myself not to do it by saying, the clothes may come to style in the future again. I'm sure a lot of girls out there are dealing with the same problem...

I've always thought of organizing my own garage sale. But I'm really hesitant about the idea. Maybe I just couldn't let go of the stuffs I have. And I can't bare the fact that I should sell my clothes in a very low price. When some of them were only used once or never even used at all. Besides, I don't know a thing about selling... :(

Could anyone give me advise on this? Thanks in advance my blogger friends. :D

It's been quite a while since I had vacation. Eventhough I don't have a job right now, a big part of me still wishes to get the hell out of here! A three day getaway to somewhere cold would do. Or a week maybe in the beach. I'd totally grab any chance that I could get to leave all the worries away.

The whole family and I went to Alabang Town Center last night to have dinner in Cyma for the celebration of my youngest sister's birthday. We arrived in the restaurant at around 8:30 pm. Since we were late, all of us brought a big appetite. Thankfully, my mom got there early, so we were able to eat as soon as we were seated.

Cyma, is one of the first Greek restaurants ever opened here in the Philippines. Their branch in Alabang just opened last month. A lot of my mom's friends recommended the place because they're said to serve fresh and great Greek dishes. Everything on the menu seemed a bit pricey though... If you were just to have a snack, expect to shell out 300 Php per person at least. But I assure you that you'll be getting your money's worth because their very generous with the proportions. There were 5 of us last night, and we only had a plate of salad, a bowl of muscles, one order of their mixed mezedes with pita bread, and baby back ribs. We all shared what was on the table. It may sound the food wasn't enough for our party but we surprisingly still had left overs. Our bill was 3,200 Php...

I loved their salad. It was my favorite out of the bunch. Sad to say, that the rest was just satisfactory. I'm not saying that the food's bad, I guess Greek food doesn't quite appeal to me. I could give 5/5 stars to their service though. We were very much taken care of during our whole stay.

So, cheers to you Titel! Happy 19th Birthday!!!!

I grew up with characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Cinderella, Flounder, Ariel, and Tinkerbell. My parents made sure that my siblings and I get to watch the latest movies from Disney all the time. Because of this, I became a fan... And it has been like that for as long as I could remember.

Now that I'm a lot older, I still enjoy most of their series, movies, and products. I even got great Disney on Ice tickets last month. So I was able to take my nieces to the show after Christmas. It was really funny. I had a good laugh from start to finish. I felt like I was also 7 years old. The show featured Disneyland Adventures. It took me back to my first visit to the theme park in California last April of 2004. Disney really has its own magical way of making you feel like a kid again. I highly recommend this to everyone, especially for the parents who want to have that special bonding time with the whole family.

Because Disney on Ice is really that spectacular, you could expect to have a slight difficulty availing good tickets since they run out so fast. So, I suggest you get them in advance like I did. You won't need to ask favours from certain connections to pull this off. All you'll have to do is sit back, turn on your computer and order them online. Easy, right? Just check www.acheapseat.com, and be on the know about the latest events in Broadway, sports, and concerts. Check out their prices for the Los Angeles Lakers Tickets and New York Knicks Tickets. Get a chance to witness your favourite NBA team on action. This could be a perfect gift for your husband on Valentine's Day.

In Their Shoes

I've finally come to realize that I cry over the silliest and most senseless things ever... I know I'm a crybaby but I didn't know that I'm this deep. Whenever I'm sad, I like to keep most of the emotions bottled up. I rather not talk about what's bothering me as I sit on one quiet corner of the room. I want to think of problems on my own. I feel as if though I could much more solve it if I don't share it with others...

I guess because of this, some things are left unspoken. Since I don't just talk to anyone about what's bothering me, unconsious feelings are left hanging. This may be one of the reasons why I sometimes cry over the most simples things. For example, a friend told me about his break-up story just a while ago... After a while, I just felt the tears accumulating in my eyes. His story was just so inspiring and sad, that I couldn't help myself from crying.

This kind of incident didn't just happened tonight. It has happened to me so many times before. And after quite some time, I finally realized that I merely just can't tolerate hearing sad stories... For some unknown reason, I'm strongly influenced and affected by it. I guess, it's because everytime I hear one, I try to imagine myself in their shoes...

The devastating earthquake in Haiti is truly devastating. Imagine how the locals are doing out there at this very moment... Because of the tragedy, they have a serious shortage with water, food, and medical supplies. According to the news last night there are already 50,000 confirmed deaths. Up to now, rescue teams and locals are still on the search for those reported missing.

The earthquake had destroyed a lot of structures that resulted into people having to sleep on the floors of the streets. The hospitals are overwhelmed by the large number of casualties. Help is coming all over the world. Each country has a contribution. It's really beautiful whenever nations set their differences aside to help the people. This natural disaster takes us back to the wrath of typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng in the Philippines last December 2009 where a big number of Filipinos died and lost their homes. Filipinos are still in the road of recovering, this is I believe one of many reasons we sincerely sympathyze with what had happened to the Hatians. Despite of the crisis going on in our country at the moment, we are still deteremined to help. The world is a better place if we take care of the people.

Let us all pray for the people of Haiti...

Thanks to technology, big time producers could now make movies that are highly influenced by special effects without tapping out from reality. Car movies are no strangers to this trend. Because of this, movie makers are able to showcase their limitless imagination and ideas on the screen. Back then, car movies were more for the guys. But because of the available varieties, people of all ages and gender could enjoy it all together now. Check out PlayitSafeblog's 5 Best and Worst Car Movies of All Time from SafeAuto.

A lot of people are influenced by car movies when it comes to choosing their dream car. Surely, most of us would be impressed of the stunts and designs made with the cars we see in television. One good example is the all time favorite old American muscle car. But rather than focusing on those aspects, there are a lot of things we have to consider when it comes to purchasing your own vehicle. A responsible consumer's priority should be the safety. Never forget the fact that you're sharing the road with plenty of people who maybe worst drivers than you could ever be. It's important that you always be on your guard no matter how advance your driving skills are. Such a great risk is always at stake whenever you're out on the road.

Aside from what's already mentioned, it's highly recommendable that you get a good auto insurance as well. With this, you are also assuring the security of your vehicle, therefore making you prepared for any inevitable accidents that could possibly occur. Acquiring an auto insurance really helps a driver become more confident. Take these tips in consideration and driving could be much more safer for you.

For some reason, everytime I'm around my high school friends... I unconsciously act like a young teen ager again. We had another one of our get togethers last night and I think all of us there had fun since we got to enjoy each other's companies again. Just to give you an idea as to how wacky we could be whenever we're all together, here's a picture...

Don't we all look rediculous??? LOL! Obviously, we had a blast! We had great food, fantastic company, few drinks, and a lot of laughs!

The last eight months have been really tiring for me. I had to study, maintain the household since our helper had to quit, and take care of my mother who is fortunately feeling a lot better already. Now that I'm becoming less busy, I think it's time to finally have that relaxing, well-deserved vacation. I just wish that I could afford it. Thankfully, a friend told me where I could get best cheap holiday deals. She recommended trying out ulookubook.com. It's an online travel guide that could hook you up with Cheap Flights to Cyprus. I've always wanted to go there. Cyprus together with Santorini, Spain, Ibiza and Venice are the top places I want to visit before I die. I could already imagine myself just lying on the beach, holding a cold glass of my favorite cocktail in one of the largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea.

Since Christmas is over, there are greater chances for you to find Cheap Holidays To Cyprus. This is indeed great news to those of us who want to splurge on a fabulous vacation without having to worry so much about the expenses. I can't wait to feel the sun on my back. But other than the earlier mentioned offers, Ulookubook also has other services available for you to have your own dream getaway... You'll be amazed with their best deals for other popular vacation spots. So, hurry and check it out while their January Sale is On.

To all my regular blogger friends out there who was able to read the last entries I've posted just before I had to cut back on writing, I'm sure you guys could remember that I was simply preparing for my NCLEX-RN examination.

I took it last December 2, and I reviewed for the said exam for 3 whole months. I wanted to write about the experience right after I finished it, but I decided to wait for the results first so that this entry could have an ending.

So here goes... I didn't drive my car going to Makati anymore since it's very hard to park in that area. I also didn't want to be worried about anything else since I'm already a wreck from the anxiety. My dad gave me a ride to the testing site instead. I had to wake up really early because he had to be at his office in Quezon City by 8am. I couldn't sleep the night before coz I was so nervous so I really just had 4 hours of sleep. My exam wasn't until 9 am, and I got there around 7:30. The building didn't have a lounge for visitors so exam takers had to wait just outside, looking like trembling defenseless shrimps whose about to be cooked! I was pretty quiet for a change. I wanted to talk to the other girls around me who I think would be taking the exam as well but no one seemed interested in making conversations. Everyone looked like they all had a big stick shoved right up their a**es. But I still managed to wish some of them luck. Finally, at about 8:30, we were told to fall in line and were allowed admission to the testing area one by one. The place plus the staff seemed really tense. It felt like I was in a scary Big Brother House. There were literally camera everywhere.

After getting settled, the proctor would be escorting you to your seat. And then from there, it's every man for himself. Before I started answering the questions, I whispered a short prayer and took a few deep breaths. The first 10 questions were easy, and then after a while, it got harder and harder... I expected to finish the exam after question 75. But then, the test didn't stopped. I got so worried already because our lecturers from RA Gapuz told us that a big percentage of examiners who finished the test at question 75 has a greater possibilty of passing the exam. I was at the edge of my seat and thought that maybe mine would end after 100, but then I reached 120, 150, 180, 200, and finally 251. As I was answering each question, I felt like my brain was about to explode. That was the first time I ever felt like I was mentally abused. haha! After telling the proctor that I'm done, I headed back to the lockers to retrieve my things. I think there were just three of us left in the room. I left the building at 2pm.

As soon as I had the comfort of talking to someone about it, I unconsciously broke down in tears because of the negative thoughts and realization that I think I could've done better. After the whole experience, I had a chance to relax and unwind. I kept distracting myself with useless activities. I didn't want to entertain the agony of waiting.

I expected to get my results before the new year, but nothing came. Maybe it was because of the holidays, some mails were caught in delay because of the season. Then on a hot Monday, January 11 2010 to be exact, a loud knock on our gate woke me up. It was the mailman, I had a strong feeling that he was about to deliver the letter from the Board of Nursing. As I received the envelope, I saw my name on the front. I was shaking and quickly went inside the living room. I took a few deep breaths and decided to open the mail immediately... It said, I passed!!!

It was such a relief! All the studying and the staying home paid off. I was so excited to tell my parents so I called them right away.

Anyways, I wrote this so that I could inspire some of you whose about to take the exam as well. I hope this helped with some of your questions. The best advise I could give you is just always have faith on yourself and the Lord...

My grandmother came home from California. She has always wanted to watch Wowowee live for the longest time and finally, she had her chance last Saturday. My Godmother was able to score us some good tickets in the said very popular noon time variety show and my grandmother was very delighted. I had to accompany her because she's already handicapped. I was a bit skeptical to come with her at first because it wasn't my kind of thing despite of the fact that I watch that show quite often.

My grandmother seemed that she had fun. She looks so cute whenever she laughs. Watching Wowowee was really tiring though. We had to get there before 10 am when the show really starts at 12:30 in the afternoon. We had to arrive early because there were a lot of orientations from the staffs of the program regarding safety. Also, we had the routine rehearsal before the show where the floor director would perk us all up for the cameras. Since we came in a Saturday, where they do their special presentations, the show ended at 3:30 pm. So, all in all we spent almost 7 hours inside the ABS-CBN compound.

I was really tired after that but my grandmother was still very awake and told us that she wanted to go to SM mall of Asia as well. I was in great shock when I heard it but I had no choice but to bow at her every whim because we love her so much and she's just here for a long visit since she's now residing in the United States. So, we went to the mall and we took her to see the sea beside it where there was a big firework display every weekend. All we did was walk. So as soon as we got into the car to leave and go home, my grandmother quickly fell asleep. It was really cute because she snored like a man. It was funny since she was just 4'9" tall and is very slim. No one could ever think that a gentle elderly like her could snore as loud as a bear.

Most of the children today are very lucky to have the luxury of using computers right inside their homes. They now have the convenience of just clicking their home works away with the help of search engines that practically does all the job for you. Through this way, the chances of a student learning something is cut short.

TutorVista
in the other hand, one of the leading online tutoring companies in the world offers a wide variety of subjects that caters specifically to Grade K-12 and college students. I wish this was easily available to me during my freshmen year in high school. This would've helped me a lot with my weakness in Math since they have algebra-help, algebra-2-help, math-answers, math-problems, algebra-word-problems, and math-word-problems. Imagine, having your own online Algebra tutor who could explain the whole thing as long as it takes for you to get it.

I've actually tried online tutoring back in college. I must admit that the program I enrolled for helped boost my confidence in answering problems. It's very practical to do the online tutor classes because they adjust to your own time. TutorVista for example gives its students 24/7 access for as long as they want by just having to pay $99 a month. You can check their website to look at the other terms they have available.

Feel free to visit TutorVista and try the demo they have for first time users to experience their service for FREE. Enjoy learning...

This is why I want every day to be Christmas!!!

This entry was entirely influenced by a great commercial I saw in the Science channel the other day. It'll be a lot better if I could embed the video here for you to appreciate it, but unfortunately, I couldn't find the clip in the internet.

Anyway, it was a commercial about kids and theory according to Albert Einstein. The genius scientist concluded that theories should be understood by children no matter how long nor complex. If kids couldn't understand the main concept of a theory, then the theory MUST be WRONG. Everything could and should be explained to a child according to their level of understanding. It could be through pictures, demostrations, and lectures...

It makes a lot of sense right? So let this be a continuous reminder for us to never underestimate a child's ability to cope and accept knowledge. We as adults, encounter more complicated stuffs and situations but the matter of fact is, WE just actually make it seem that way... ;)

"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."
-Albert Einstein

We don't know what the future may bring. But for sure each and everyone of us are hopeful for this very promising year. Aside from loudly welcoming 2010, we also celebrate the blessings and lessons we've encountered and whole-heartedly accepted during the last year.

As we move on to a new year, we carry on into ourselves the memories and scars from the years that have past. Let us not dwell into the tragedies and losts we've suffered from... Baring in mind that we must not forget them as well. Rather than becoming scared of what's instore for us this year, let's all take everything as a challenge.

If you just know me enough personally, I bet you'll think this is pretty hiprocritical of me. For I am weak and afraid too. But I've let opportunities pass by in front of my face so many times before. And now I refuse to stay in one place. So this year, I'm proud to say that I'm ready and excited for CHANGE.
