Welcome!!!
Hello and welcome to my site. A personal page for me to blog about my experiences, spur of the moment thoughts, feelings, travel, and etc. I hope you have fun reading my entries as much as I enjoyed writing them. Please feel free to leave your comments and messages.

The SCRUBS

A long time ago, nurses were obliged to wear long dark colored skirts with a matching long sleeved top and a big nurse's cap. The style evolved slowly into a white dress with short sleeves. Only operating room nurses were allowed to wear scrub suits whenever they were in the operating area.

However, at this present age, a lot of hospitals use scrub suits as their general uniform for the medical staffs because they can move more freely and it actually costs less.

I experienced the difference between the two during the time I was working for a hospital outside the city. The white uniform was much presentable and cleaner to look at compared to the usual scrub suit, but it was hard for lot of us to maintain it during our shift. Putting on multiple layers of clothes can be very uncomfortable, especially if you’re living in a tropical country such as the Philippines. The white traditional nurse's uniform required too much under garments. Aside from the underwear, the ladies were required to have a white pair of stockings and a chemise underneath. Not unlike when we just have to wear nursing scrub uniforms, it was more comfortable to move and run at any given situation (which is pretty important in our line of duty).

Nowadays, nurses at the same time with doctors are mostly wearing hospital scrub uniforms during their duty. Because of this, there are various scrub suit styles available at any medical uniform store that allows you to have it accustomed to whatever you like.

The other night, Filipinos were all out supporting Charice who made her debut appearance on the world known US original series, GLEE.

The musical series Glee made a great impact to people of all ages. It surprisingly became a phenomenon for this generation. Because our very own Charice Pempengco was able to join this very prestigious show, it gave the Filipino Gleeks another reason to stare at the TV for almost a whole hour.

Looking back at history, Charice was n0t as popular and accepted before. Her biggest break was during the time she sang for Ellen and Oprah after they scout her from Youtube. Because of this, I bet those 3big time executive producers are very regretful right now since they let a star as big as Charice walk out of their stations. It's sad to know that little girl before tried so hard to reach her dreams in becoming a famous singer, but her own countrymen did not let her. It had to take someone from another land to appreciate what Charice really has to offer.

Now that Charice is being build up by the most influencial woman in the world, there's no stopping this determined little lady. And since she's undergoing intensive training under David Foster, you expect only the best.

I can't forget the scene in the first episode of Glee season two where Charice, playing as Sunshine Corazon had a glee-off with Rachelle in the girl's bathroom.

Honestly, both stars have high-grade quality. But their personalities and tenchniques are so different.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Kissimmee Tourism. All opinions are 100% mine.

Dad and I have been distant for the past few months because we're both very busy at work. So, we planned a US vacation some time on the 4th week of October.

We are set to visit San Francisco and Chicago on our 3 weeks stay. However, while surfing the internet last night, I came across a wonderful vacation place in Florida as well. I've always wanted to go there since I know they have Disney World which I heard is better than the Disneyland in Anaheim. I've particularly picked Kissimmee because it's basically in between of all the places and events we want to go to. Aside from Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World Orlando are near the area as well.

Magic Kingdom

Visiting the world known theme parks in Orlando doesn't stop the fun there because Kissimmee has an entertaining night to offer for all its tourists as well. Old Town for example is a great way to have that ultimate old American experience. I'm sure my dad will be enjoying that part of the trip most since we'll get to see vintage cars and traditional restaurants. This gives us the chance to actually have a feel of the real Kissimmee history.

Entertainment Zones

In terms of accommodation, I've decided that we stay in a motel instead. Apparently the town has very nice establishments that can allow us to have nice rooms at more affordable rates. Saving up some cash from the rooms will mean more money to spend for shopping and dining.

Now, I can't wait for October to come. Got to start preparing.

Filipinos are always fond of singing. That's why we got to embrace and appreciate the technology of karaoke. It wasn't until just a few years back when it was presented with a TV that can give you the lyrics while you sing along the tunes.

Because of this, there's no fiesta or house parties that didn't have a vid-oke set available for the guests. And other than the said events, family ktv bars are available at each corner of the city. You have the choice to either rent a private room and sing your heart away with your friends or share the stage with other strangers who have to drop a five peso coin on the machine's slots.

My friends and I are able to enjoy this as well. We seldom rent a place for the night where we could have good spirits, delicious food, and a matching waitress to serve us everything we need. Although we sing the same songs over and over again at times, we don't really feel the redundancy since we like what we're doing while in each other companies.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PBM Products. All opinions are 100% mine.

Generic products have helped a lot of people over the years. Because it possesses the same functions and qualities other branded products can give, it allows the consumers to have a wider option when it comes to buying certain items.

Here in Asia, generic products are more affordable and more commonly found in stores compared to the branded ones. In my line of duty, as a nurse, it's my obligation to promote health amongst my patients. Understanding the living conditions here in the Philippines, I personally advise them that it’s okay to take generic drugs since they basically go through the same tests before they get approved by the proper government agency or qualified research and testing center.

The same principle goes when it comes to buying infant formulas as well. I know that a lot of parents are a bit skeptical about this since babies are known to be very delicate and sensitive. Until now, some parents could still not grasp the fact that store brand formula are as safe and beneficial as the branded milk formulas available in the market right now. I understand that each parent wants only the best for their babies. Unfortunately, they have this wrong perception that the more expensive formulas are better for the children. When the truth of the matter is, paying a lot less for store brand formulas have the same positive impact for kids for each product must reach the same requirements from the FDA.

I agree pretty much with the article about the 10 Products to Always Buy Generic. Nowadays, it pays to be smart and practical.

I received an SMS and email from newlondonhospital@hush.ai, saying that I am one of the 20 lucky applicants that have qualified to take an English exam this coming weekend as a pre-employment exercise. Because a lot of people have been taking advantage of nurses and caregivers here in the Philippines, I can't help myself from becoming very pessimistic about offers that say they can help you find a good job abroad without having to spend any cent or what so ever.

I was somehow hopeful that everything they said in the email was true so I decided to do my own investigation. First, I googled the name of the company. I found out the company really does exist. Unfortunately, this fact is still not enough to prove they were authentic.

Next, I tried browsing my sent items. I was trying to see if I really did send them my resume. Upon reviewing, I discovered that I never came across their ads.

As detailed and cunning as their offer may seem, it gave me more reason to not believe what their saying. Everything was too good to be true. I think what really gave them away was the fact that they're requiring the applicants to attend a mandatory english exam that they say, NOBODY FAILS. Why would an employer promise you something like that??! In addition, the only credible English exams are the IELTS and TOEFL. If they had really seen my resume, they should've known that I already passed the IELTS. Why will I have to take another exam that I've only heard of just now?

Aside from that, their payment method raised more questions. They do not do cash on delivery transactions. Instead, you can only send your payment for the English exam though LBC (courier).

So, to my dear colleagues, please don't jump on the idea too quickly. Think rational and investigate. Make sure you only give out informations and cash to reputable recruitment agencies that are accredited by POEA. Please bear in mind that they will say anything just to convince you. Don't be a victim.

This is the actual message they sent me. Feel free to read this and tell me what you think. Help us spread the word by writing it on your blog as well. Thanks.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Working as a nurse here in the Philippines is very demanding. Aside from taking orders from the doctor, at the same time making sure that they're doing the right thing, our key function is to take care of the patients. They will always be on top of our list.

Due to previously working with a private hospital here in our area, I got to handle different types of patients each day. And amongst all of the cases I've already dealt with, I find people who suffer from long term disabilities most time consuming. But because of the various products of technology, situations like these become easier to do for health workers like me over time. Somehow, disabled patients can function more and do other things for themselves without help.

One great example is the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA), which is a non profit organization that helps people with disabilities to be more safe when inside a vehicle despite of their condition.

Qualified dealers of who aims to have a better of way of transporting disabled people got together to provide them a more convenient way to travel for they understand the fact that people have different needs and weaknesses. The association have its ways pf making sure that their members can deliver customer satisfaction through a quality assurance program (QAP).

Basically, the elderly and as well as the handicapped should be encouraged to do their activities of daily living as much as possible so that they could still practice their independence. Depending too much on others can cause depression and regression in one's life.

If you are interested in their programs, feel free to visit their website. You can enter your zip code on their site in order to know if there's a dealership member near your home or area.

Sellers have tapped every social networking websites right now just so that they could fully promote their products. Aside from ebay, Sulit, and Amazon, business owners have taken full advantage of Facebook and Multiply as well.

I love online shopping because i think it's more convenient and cheaper, compared to if you exerted a lot of effort going around the malls you could possibly reach. However, because of this trend, a lot of online businesses became abusive amongst their clients or prospect buyers. I think I could really talk about this issue since I have personally made numerous transactions through the internet myself. I already had a feel of both ends. And I think, sellers have the upper hand most of the time.

There are a lot of sellers right now, most specially in Facebook who sells their products 400% higher that the actual price. I find it weird how some people go for this because nowadays, clothes that are being sold online here in the Philippines mostly just came from Bangkok. Since online sellers have the same supplier, their basically just selling the same thing.

Going back to the Facebook issue, I get really ticked off whenever online shops tag me in the photos of their products. I find it too aggressive since they do it without without even asking you permission therefor bypassing your authority. In addition to this, there online sellers have taken unnecessary actions towards their clients who do not keep their end of the bargain. For example, if one of their customers do not settle their payment for the item they've reserved within the allotted time, they post their pictures on the "BOGUS BUYER" list and tag other users in the network socializing website. This is very embarrassing. I have never been included in this list before but I feel sorry for those who end up in it. Imagine, having your picture posted in the world wide web for random people to see. It actually looks like "wanted" ad.

Also, the terms and conditions online sellers have in their websites are out of this world. This is an example of the basic policies they implement:

  • Full payment first before shipping.
  • No RETURN, No EXCHANGE.
  • Reserved items are considered SOLD.
  • Failure to settle payment within 3 days of reservation shall be placed in the BOGUS BUYER album.
  • No CANCELLATIONS!
  • Once shipped, the seller is not liable for any loss or damage during shipment.
  • No BOGUS BUYERS! Save yourself from SHAME!

(These are just some of the basic policies of online shops available in the internet right now. I have copied this from various sellers in different websites.)

Upon researching the matter, I've found out that these terms and conditions are illegal in the country. In the consumer's act of the Philippines, customers have the right to return a product once it's defective. Because transactions are done through the internet, we could only appreciate the items by looking at their pictures. We can't be a hundred percent sure if the seller did send us a product in great condition.

Online sellers do not pay their taxes and most of them are not registered in the government so there's no way to know for sure if their legitimate or not. I don't understand how something that's not registered in the government and who does not pay taxes could be this demanding.

At last, the long wait has ended! I have received my IELTS results just a couple weeks ago. Since I am currently working, I could not find the time to get the official results by myself because I don't have the time. Fortunately, my younger sister exerted much effort and went to Makati to pick it up from the IELTS testing center.

I didn't know when she'll be getting the results, so I was surprised when she got home one day, carrying a big smile on her face. Her big grin was induced by having the privilege of opening and reading my official results first since she was obviously as excited as I was.

Finally, when I had the chance to take a look at the piece of paper myself, I was so happy to see that I passed the exam with flying colors. I had a total band score of 8.5. 8.5 in listening, reading, and writing. Then, a 7.5 in speaking (BOO!!!!).

I thought I did a great job in listening, reading, and speaking... I was honestly expecting a higher grade in my speaking test despite of the fact that I did not understand the first question the examiner had asked me.

However, amongst all the subtest, I was pretty scared of knowing how bad I did in the writing part since I felt like I did not have enough time to check my answers. Time pressure led me to panic. I was somehow unsure of a lot of things I have written for my formal essay. That's why I was so surprise to find out that I got an almost perfect score. I think, I have to thank blogging for this success because it really helped me improve my writing skills.

I couldn't be more happier to receive this perfect news for my birthday. Thank you Lord for guiding me through this endevour. You are so great to me and my family.

In appreciation of God's blessings, I would like to extend my arms to those people who would want to get some tips and help with their IELTS exam. Please feel free to ask me here in my blog if you have questions regarding the exam. I will be very glad to help you.

Peace ouT! :D

This year, summer is even hotter than ever. It's hard to go out now because the heat from the sun is so cruel. Staying inside the house does not alleviate the discomfort either (well, not unless you have the airconditioner on 24/7).

If we feel hot, I bet our pets feel hot too. Imagine if you were covered with fur all over??? We're already very sensitive to the heat at this stage, what more if we had more hair? Because of this I'm sure you can now imagine what your pets are going through. My shih tzu for example has mood swings lately. He used to be very playful at anytime of the day, but because of the weather, he usually just sleeps in the afternoon.

Our pets can't do anything for themselves, and they can't say what's on their mind either. So let's have the initiative as responsible pet owners to make their lives a little easier. What I do for my dog are the following: I sprinkle some water on my dog's face whenever I feel that it's too hot. In addition to this, I offer him a bowl of cold water every now and then (more often than the usual). Then just recently I fugured that I should give him a bath more. Instead of his once a week bath, I guess it's ideal to increase that into 2 or 3 to compensate with the frustrating heat. Another good option would be trimming their hair so that they could cool off more fast. It's best if you check on him more so that you could easily detect any problems. Put in mind that extreme heat can lead to certain diseases, heat stokes, or deaths.

This will be much appreciated by your little babies. ;)

Maybe this link can be helpful to you too... Summer Heat and Health Hazard for Pets

Make or Break

I did my best... Now, all I can do is hope for the best and place everything on God's hands.

It was such a relief to know that this was the last day of my IELTS exam. The first part of the test was held in Dusit Thai hotel, Makati last Saturday (April 17, 2010). Then, I took the second part of the exam in Paseo De Roxas, Makati earlier today.

In the first test date, hundreds of the examinees (including me, of course) took the listening, reading, and writing exam. Basically, the whole test lasted more almost three hours. There were no breaks allowed in between the said exams so it was very draining. I found it hard to answer the questions during the second hour of the exam since I was already exhausted. My tiredness peaked at the third test, which was writing because I was running low on energy. I remember feeling so hungry after I was done with all the exams.

Then on the second day, I was evaluated by an IELTS examiner in speaking. It was just a short 15 minute interview. The questions were kind of easy, but your main enemy through it all is yourself. Don't let your nerves take over.

Compared to the other exams I have already taken, this was the least I was nervous about because I got to practice a lot in my review. I took a lot of mock tests while I was studying in Speak Well Las Pinas.

Recalling everything that I have done during the whole course of the exam, I think I could have done better. So, right now I'm just hoping for the best and letting God make his decision.

Trade show exhibits are events where products are displayed and marketed for the consumer's viewing pleasure. This kind of activity attracts a great deal of people, which is why companies join the show in order to stand out from their competition. Planning a small party is hard work enough but organizing trade shows exhibits are bigger much exhausting since there's a lot of things you must also take in consideration.

Aside from the venue itself, you have to think of a concept. Then from there, you can go in to the more elaborate details such as the carpets, curtains, and the stage. People or companies who will be having their display is in-charge of decorating their own booths based from the event's main theme. Every single thing they place in their booth can either make or break them. This is why it's important to have an approachable and unique design. Unfortunately, they will have to work in small spaces most of the time, so it's best that they utilize every item they use for the display. Table covers and skirts for example doesn't only protect the table from getting dirty... If you print the company's logo or name on the cloth, they can also serve as a banner when placed in the middle or front of the booth. The same goes with table top display. Table top displays provide a soothing background for the speaker or representative that will help them attract more customers.

It's good if you could drag your friends along for the job so that it can be done a lot faster. Hiring a certain service that specializes in the area is a great idea also. This is so all you have to do is sit on comfortable directors chairs and supervise.

Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and former United States of America Vice President Al Gore will be visiting Manila on June 8 to present the updated Asian version of "An Inconvenient Truth" in SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex.

Al Gore has been very devoted to his work for the longest time. He was able to reach on to people regarding the real condition of the environment. A lot of countries are affected by climate change. Philippines for example has been experiencing one of its driest, hottest, and earliest summer. Prior to that, who could forget the damages that was brought upon by typhoon Ketsana (most populary known in the country as Bagyong Ondoy)? These are some examples of how climate change can effect us all.

Let's save the world by getting involved. Support this event and be aware of global warming.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Alvin and the Chipmunks. All opinions are 100% mine.

As a person who grew up in the early 90's, I grew up watching different types of cartoons in the television. One of the most memorable ones was Alvin and the Chipmunks. I could still clearly remember myself doing the best chipmunk voice I can (which I am guilty of until now), or how Alfred would scream Alvin's name when he would cause some trouble.

Now that technology is fast pace, a movie company was able to produce a great movie adaptation of the said series. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel is a continuation of Alvin, Simon, and Theodore's misadventures.

I watched the first Alvin and the Chipmunks movie with my siblings at home. Most of us are girls, so we kept going on and on about how cute the stars of the film were. Now that the sequel is already on DVD as well, we are very excited to watch it together in our house again. We like watching movies here at home rather than in the movie houses since we get to really lie down and kick it back here.

This movie is really fantastic for the whole family, especially if you have kids around. Children are commonly very talkative and loud. You don't know when they'll be putting up a tantrum. Because of this, it's actually not ideal for parents to take them in movie houses if they don't know how to control them yet. So I suggest for them to buy it now in DVD instead.

The DVD which is available in Blue-ray and digital download, is packaged with an additional singalong disc that will surely give you and your family More Munk Mayhem.

To have more ideas about movies perfect for the whole family, feel free to visit http://www.foxfamilyflicks.com. Happy watching everyone!

Kittens are very cute. This video lets them prove that they can even be more cuter. I don't exactly remember where I first saw this video before. But until now, I still think it's very cute.

Nowadays, most parents do not have the luxury of guiding their children when it comes to assignments from school because they are already tired from their jobs when they get home. Due to this fact, a lot of them choose to enroll their kids to review classes at school.

The downside of kids having to spend more time in school to attend extra tutoring classes is that they tend to get tired on the long hours that may result to lost of interest. This should not be the case, especially when dealing with younger people. To avoid getting burned out, parents can also consider hiring an Online Tutor for their kids so that they could learn in the comforts of their own home (provided with a computer and a stable internet connection that is).

Because of the tight competition amongst online review courses right now, Free Online Tutoring is made even more possible for trials. This allows you to make sure that your child is getting the right type of education.

In addition, online tutoring makes use of a different approach to their students. Yesterday was my baby Miko's 8th Birthday! We didn't get to celebrate it outsude the house since I had to do a lot of errands first. So hopefully, I can bring him somewhere over the weekend. :) He's pretty old if converted to human years.

I'm very happy that he became part of the family. We all are looking forward in spending more years to come with him. We love oyu Miko. Happy happy birthday! :)

March

I’ve suddenly realized that it’s Miko’s birthday month already. Mikois my shih tzu. I’ve written about him plenty of times in my blog. He’s turning 8 years old on the 29th. If you convert it to human years, he’s actually 54 already. That’s old… That’s why I treasure every moment with him. He still looks very good and young despite of his age. A lot of pet owners say that he has been taken good care of since he doesn’t look like his age at all. We are all very thankful that Miko’s still active and health up to this time. Too active at times even! :))

I don’t know how we will be celebrating his birthday this year. Last time, we jsut took him out to Tiendesitas. I’d love to take him there again but it’s too hot. I don’t want him suffering from the heat or something like that. Any suggestions?

Because of the many harmful chemicals we add on our food, it is hard to distinguish whether a certain ingredient is good or bad for out body.

Due to this fact, pharmaceutical companies have produced a variety of supplements as well. Instead of finding a cure for complicated diseases, we should pay attention to health promotion. Prevention of illnesses can save you the trouble and money.

Protein Supplements such as prostat for example can help strengthen the human body. Protein aids the body's natural defense against harmful microorganisms. Protein supplements in liquid form are now available in the market. Their forms today are more tolerable since they are better tasting and more concentrated. Making it easier to drink or take compared to before.

Aside from strengthening the body, protein supplements help you compensate with the lost energy caused by strenuous activities. Using protein supplements can replace the energy you have lost in faster process. Therefore, it can also be recommended for athletes. In addition, people with tissue damage or skin trauma may increase protein intake by eating meat and drinking supplements in order to recover more quickly. This is because protein is one of the essential compounds needed for wound healing.

But before anything else, make sure you consult your physician about this first.

My good friend took her NCLEX-RN exam two months after I did. I'm glad that she also passed! We went to the review together, so I got to see everything she had to go through as well. All our hard work had paid off! Now, we are both one step closer to our dreams!

When traveling, you should always have cash on hand for emergency purposes. There is no certainty of what is going to happen when you are out.

However, there will be times when you are not able to carry around money with you. But this should not cause a panic if you have your credit card readily available. The advantages of credit cards are countless. Credit cards are as good as cash! Since money is just circulating amongst us, sanitation is a big issue. With credit cards, you and the person behind the counter are the only people who have to touch it. You can just wipe the card with a piece of cloth after each transaction prior to placing it back in your wallet.

It wouldn't be so long when all the stores in the world will have access on this type of payment method. Small businesses up to now here in the Philippines for example, are still using the old basic calculator. Accepting credit cards may attract more customers. In addition to this, credit card companies have alliances with various popular companies that may allow the credit card holder to pay in a specific installment term. This saves you the trauma of shelling out the full payment in one drop.

Reading

Since I have reviewed for IELTS, I realized that there are various types of reading. For the exam, I need to be just doing some scanning in order to conserve time. Ever since I had studied for my NCLEX-RN exam, I had the sudden urge of reading a book every once in a while. I thought I was already good at it since I understood everything I've read so far. But as I take the mock tests every week, I seem to land on the same band score each time. I always get a 6, when the passing band score for the Academic module is 7.

It's relly frustrating. Plus, I have to worry about the other areas like Speaking and Writing (which is more difficult). As the days pass, the closer I get to the exam date. I hope I do well. I think I'm doing well though. My test results just don't back that up :(

Eyes deteriorate as the whole body age. Presbyopia is an inevitable medical condition greatly suffered by older people. It is where the eyes progressively lose focus on closer objects. Treatment for Presbyopia may be by just wearing the appropriate eyeglasses or contact lenses. But sometimes surgery is also raised as an option.

This does not mean that younger people are at less risk developing visual disturbances. Aside from Presbyopia, there are a lot of other illnesses that affects the eyes. Hyperopia and Myopia are common examples. These certain medical conditions can affect anyone at any stage of their life. Hyperopia is called “farsightedness“, in layman’s term. It is where an affected person experiences difficulty in looking at far objects. Myopia or “nearsightedness” in the other hand is the opposite. Both conditions can be treated by wearing customized eyeglasses or contact lenses. Like Presbyopia, invasive procedure like surgery is also an option.

Because of this, it is highly recommended by medical professionals for us to eat nutritious foods that could help us become healthy. By doing so, we can actually prevent these certain ailments from happening. In the case of Presbyopia, maintaining a fit and healthy body may prolong its occurrence.

Wearing flipflops are practical during summer. It is very comfortable and easy to slip on. Because this year’s summer has been the hottest so far, a lot of people are all pumped up to go to the beach in order to fully embrace the sun. Having to wear less clothing on the beach does not mean that you could put your guard down when it comes to being fashionable. Don’t allow your hair to be all sticky and because of humid. Make sure that you get an even tan. Don’t be afraid to flaunt your gorgeous body in that sexy little swimsuit. And in my case, walk on the fine sands with a fabulous pair of sandals or flipflops.

"This is a picture of my latest find, authentic Roxy Surf Flipflops. I bought a new pair of slippers in an online store almost one week ago. I’m currently breaking them in. Their almost as comfortable as my other pair which are made by Reef."

The people’s champ, Manny Pacquiao will be facing Clottey in his next boxing match on March 13, 2010 at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium. All the Filipinos are all out support on the very famous athlete. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has also been labelled as the “Second Best Boxer of All Time”. Now, he is placed next to Sugar Ray Robinson’s rank. Over the years, Manny have made his countrymen proud. This is why whenever Pacman has a fight, the whole Philippines are watching. The streets here in Manila becomes like a ghost town because almost everyone is out to see his fight live.

A lot of critics are saying are saying that Clottey is the underdog in the coming match. But that didn’t stop him from saying that he can beat the “Pound per Pound Champion”. Because of this fact, I the odds are better for those who will be betting on Joshua Clottey just in case he wins. This very much anticipated fight is now the center of all sports betting event in the Philippines.

I have friends who placed his bet on Manny of course. He has always been a fan of the said boxer. Aside from boxing, my friends would participate in basketball betting as well. This is their only way of gambling... They are very loyal to their favourites. Sometimes, I can’t help myself from loudly cheering for their teams as well.

At least once a year, I deal with a swelling eyelid. Here in the Philippines, we always have the theory that an inflamed upper eyelid are caused by a cockroach bite.

Our house is infested with cockroaches but I'm always just the only one who has to suffer from this all the time. So, I've come to realize that it my case may not be because of an insect bite. With the idea troubling me, I've decided to do a little research in the internet about the said subject.

Apparently, I found out that there are certain reasons why our eyelids swell. It could be a result of an infection, a trauma, a stye (in tagalog: kuliti), or an allergic reaction. A swelling eyelid is always accompanied by pain and redness. It's treatment will entirely depend on the cause. You might use antibiotics if it was because of infection, antihistamines if it was due to an allergic reaction, and just hot compress so it could swell down.

I don't know what caused mine, so I'd probably just settle for the harmless home remedies. I hope it goes away soon. I need to attend my classes for the IELTS review. :(

As I've mentioned from a previous post before. My mom just bought me a new Compaq Presario laptop for passing the NCLEX-RN exam. We bought it almost three weeks ago. I'm using it to help me review for my IELTS examination on the 17th of April.

Ever since a permanent OS got installed in the laptop, a few glitch had suddenly appeared. It suddenly turns off every now and then. It's really irritating because it seldom happens whenever I'm in the middle of something.

Then, after a while I've also realized that the battery life of the laptop is very short compared to the other laptops here at home. That's kinda a shame because amongst the three laptops here in the house, my laptop was the latest. It should be performing better than the rest since it's new. My Compaq Presario only lasts for two hours and a half. And that's just by surfing the internet.

I'm planning to take it back to the store in the coming weekend so that it could be checked fro factory defects. For those people who has an idea of what's going on with this thing, please enlighten me. Thanks in advance everyone.

I'll be taking my IELTS exam on the 17th of April. It was just earlier this morning when I found out that I applied for the wrong type of exam. Hassle!!! This is how my day went;

I arrived at Speak Well (Las Pinas branch) as around 9:10am this morning. I enrolled for their course, and waited several minutes till the actual class started. I didn't expect the room to be congested with a number of students just like me because I was told that only an average of 10 people attend their class everyday. Since i came early, I got to properly compose myself and anticipate the worst thing that could happen that day. I was preparing myself to get through the loneliness because I didn't know anyone. Then, as students were filling up the classroom one-by-one. I was so surprise to see a co-worker enter the door. She was also alone and was pleasantly surprised of me being there as well. We were pretty close back when I was still working in the hospital back then. This was the first time I have ever seen her since i resigned.

So thankful that I finally had someone to talk to, I didn't realize how truly excited I was. We caught up with each other in no time. I told her when I will be taking the exam. I mentioned that I was taking the General Training test. She was so shocked to hear that because she knew that it wasn't suppose to be the type that I had applied for. What she had said really alarmed me. I was so tense during the lecture because I didn't know what to do about it. So, I decided to called my mom and dad to ask if they could call the IDP office in my behalf to raise my problem. Fortunately, I had a quick response from both. They told me that I should provide the testing office a formal letter of request. I finished it just now. I hope everything could be settled right before my test date... (Oh, God please help me... )

After that mind rattling experience, I managed to calm myself down after a few hours. I was able to focus on the grammar quiz given to us my our lecturer, Mr. Harry right on time. And for your information, i had a perfect mark.

Then, on the afternoon, we were taught about techniques in writing. We were given an illustration of a map where we were asked to describe what it was showing. I didn't quite understand what Mr. Harry was talking about at first. But I got the hang of it as the time was almost over. Because of this, I did't finish the task at the right time. We were instructed to write 3-4 paragraphs about the illustration with proper sequencing of ideas and grammar in under 20 minutes. I thought that I will be having minimal problems in this area of the exam since I have been blogging for so many months now. I was completely wrong with this notion. Apparently, it is really hard to write and come up with ideas under such tight time pressure. I need more practice.

Wish me luck guys! I'm becoming anxious with what's going to happen in my exam now. I hope i do well. Thanks :)

"When you are in Love, you can't fall asleep because reality is better than your dreams..."

- Dr. Seuss

I’ve always dreamt of a beautiful house, where I could settle down with my family. I don’t want to buy something already made. I want to have a say on the design and structure of the whole thing before I finally live in it. I like to keep it as traditional as possible. I want a big lot so that I could still grow flowers in the garden. The house should be surrounded with white low fences on the front along with a wide pathway in the side for the car. I’d like my house to be painted with warm earth colours like yellow or light brown, accentuated with a small copper mailbox right at the side of the main gate.

Even though technology is at its fast pace right now, I still really like it whenever I get snail mails through my mailbox at home. Despite of the fact that there are more convenient ways to receive your letters nowadays, they could never get as much authentic as to the traditional handwritten letter sent through the post office. Because of this, it’s hard to find a mailbox in the market right now that offers both quality and style. So, some people are fond of making their own instead.

Ecco mailboxes
have lived on to this idea. They have a variety of mailboxes that can fit any home. An ecco mailbox will surely add that special spark to your house. You can choose from designs like the traditional mailboxes that can be mounted right in front of your gate to an ecco wall mount mailbox. Feel free to check their different styles like the following;

ecco e4 mailbox

ecco e6 mailbox

ecco e7 mailbox

ecco e8 mailbox

Hurry and check them out while they're on sale with free shipping. Happy shopping everyone! I hope this could help you complete your home's whole look.

Due to the unusual climate change happening all around the world right now, every country is experiencing the deviation. Last year, two well known super typhoons had hit the Philippines that lead to hundreds of deaths and millions of dollars worth of damages.

The scorching heat of summer is being felt by all of the Filipinos as early as February of this year. When summer usually starts at mid March or early April. Because of this, the whole country has been adjusting. Certain areas in the Philippines are currently experiencing random black-outs since electric companies are forced to close due to the overwhelming heat that's plaguering upon us.

Aside from this, the El Nino phenomenon is right at its peak at the moment. Lands are dried up leading to the lost of crops. Even the water saved from a number of dams here in Metro Manila is alarmingly decreasing its level, causing certain areas to have disturbances with their water ration. We here in Paranaque are highly affected by this as well.

I think, despite all of these... People, most especially the students will not be discouraged from having fun this summer even with the intense heat! Enjoy your summer everyone! Happy Travels!!! :)

A lot of Americans right now are forced to deal with their bad credit. Maintaining a good credit score is very important. This is often checked by companies whenever you're applying for a loan or any instalment plans.

Sometimes, you really can't avoid late payments with your countless monthly bills. And due to the ongoing retrogression, a lot of employees had been terminated or laid off. Therefore, making it more difficult for some of us to settle what we have to pay on time.

Many people are saying that once your credit score had gone bad, it's very hard to put it right back on track. Some even say that in some cases, it's impossible! But there are ways to improve credit score. It’s just that, a lot of credit repair companies would either charge too much or take so long before you actually see results. This is why I'm very cautious in regards to this. If ever this happens to me, I wouldn't have any idea as to how to fix my credit score. Plus, at the age of 23, that'll seem pretty embarrassing.

But now that a surprising big number of people are actually dealing with this kind of problem, there are affordable and trusted services out there to help you. With their assistance, it’ll be easy for you to apply for that business or house loan you’ve always wanted with only minimal interest. All of these are within your reach despite of getting a bad credit score before.

I love onion rings! I prefer them along side with a burger rather than the traditional French fries. But not all restaurants serve yummy onion rings. I like them really crispy and spicy as the same time. Plus, the whole dish depends highly on how you make the batter.

Suggestion: Onion rings are best when dipped in sour cream or ketchup.

Have a Happy Sunday :)

My cousin's husband from Cagayan De Oro bought a brand new laptop from SM Megamall three weeks ago. The laptop was on sale during the time so he got in a really good price. I was so amazed of the deal so I wanted to buy one like it as well. My mom has been thinking of getting another laptop for her since my sister took her Lenovo. Mom just knows how to Google things through the internet, but other than that the computer's pretty useless for her already. LOL!

I in the other hand had been dreaming of getting a laptop of my own for the longest time. Since I just passed my NCLEX-RN exam, I told her that getting my own computer would be a great reward. I've been dreaming to have a Macbook PRO ever since my cousin lent me his several months ago. By the time I was suppose to give it back to him, I tried very hard to let go because I got really attached to it.

Well, I still didn't get a Macbook PRO, if that's what you're thinking... Instead, my parents decided to get me a Compaq Presario laptop from SM Megamall too. Unfortunately, it wasn't on sale anymore so we had to shell out more cash as to compared to my cousin-in-law. I didn't know anything about the specs and features when it comes to buying a computer, so I let my dad handle it.

So, right then and there... I went home with my very own brand new laptop. This still won't shut my dreams up of having a Macbook PRO in the future. I guess I'll settle for this one for the mean time. Don't get me wrong, I love it with all my heart, but it just look too manly for my taste. Although, I'm sure I could work something out to make it look more girly for me. Anyways, bottom line is... I'm really very very happy. Now let me break this in!!!

My parents and I went to SM Megamall yesterday. Last time I was in that mall, I was just in high school. Almost 10 years had passed and a lot of things had changed and improve in that place. We don't usually visit the cities up North because we didn't want to deal with traffic. But we were on a search for something yesterday, so we went out of our way and visited Pasig as well since my mom wanted to try out Charlie's Handcrafted Burgers in Capitol Village.

It's really just a small fast food restaurant that had an old all American diner feel. It's located just along the main road, beside a car wash. Since the establishment just inside a village, you'll notice that a lot of theis customers would be just coming from within the neighborhood. I felt like everyone knew each other last night. It was cozy and homy all at the same time.

There were a lot of people last night. We even had to wait for a table to sit. We tried the black angus beef burger, the Pontabelo mushroom burger, and some buffalo wings. I loved the veggie burger way better. It had a cruchy patty on the outside, and a thick serving of soft, black Pontabelo mushrooms in the inside. They were really good! My mom said that the owner of that place is also the owner of another restaurant named Cyma. If you remember, I wrote about Cyma as well last month. :) So far, I loved everything that man makes. I can't wat what he has instore for the future... ;)

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Inventory Source. All opinions are 100% mine.

A lot of people now are fonder of shopping online rather than going out of their way just to canvas an item in a mall. Here in the Philippines, a lot of sellers have tapped the social networking websites as well. It's kind of irritating at times because they flood my wall by tagging me with pictures of the products their selling.

I've always wanted to start my own online shop that focuses more on women's clothes. I've actually done my research regarding the matter since last December 2009. I have found some interesting items but it's not quite enough for a whole collection yet. Unfortunately, I still need to expand my connections in relation to product sourcing. And because I have to start reviewing for another exam this March, I'll be running a really tight schedule again. Due to this, I wouldn't have time to update and check my website regularly.

Thankfully, I learned about Inventory Source, the most trusted and longstanding company since 2002 that offers drop in services. They allow distributors to sell directly to customers through Drop Ship Suppliers. Imagine, the wholesale suppliers doing all the shipping for you, while still making profit out of the product mark ups at the same time. Be updated through the automation of inventory management process and supplier integration. This way, you'll have more time to promote your online store. Inventory Source's alliance with other well known marketplaces in the web like Amazon, eBay, and Price Grabber can very well help in this certain area too. And I say, grab any chance to improve your marketing strategy in order to attract more customers. If you want to know more about what I'm talking about, feel free to visit their website today. Create your free account and see the offers they have for the modern and practical entrepreneurs. You can now say goodbye to all the hassles this kind of business may bring. No more going crazy over inventories, finding reliable suppliers, and accidental selling of out of hand stock.

I'm Sick...

I've been feeling bad since last week, but I tried very hard not to give in to whatever I was feeling. It wasn't just til Monday when I suddenly felt that I couldn't stop it from happening anymore. It's been three days, and I still have the flu. Now, due to my dry cough, my throat is awfully painful too. I'm afraid that it may lead to tonsilitis. I hate having tonsilitis because I can't eat what I want. Plus, tonsilitis is always accompanied by fever and chills... I wish I feel better soon, so that I could go on to my new adventures :D

It's been a while since I last wrote an entry for Yummy Sunday. I always seem to forget to take a picture of a dish I like. A good example is this one. If you look at the picture closely, you'll notice that I just scattered the left overs on the plate since a big portion of the salad already went down to my stomach. LOL!

Anyways, since it's Valentine's day, I would like to feature this chicken salad from Mile High Diner, Tagaytay. It's really good! I loved the the dressing because it felt really light. Plus, the chicken was cooked softly. Everything on the menu there seemed quite pricey for me. So, you'll have to think twice in going there if you're under a tight budget. But I assure you that everything they serve has a generous amount of serving. This plate for example was good for two people already... And aside from good food, you could actually have the American dining experience in Mile High because the whole place was fully decorated that way. Most of the peices on their walls was a picture of Marilyn Manroe and Elvis Presley.

There located just beside the main road of Tagaytay along with different other restaurants which looked so fun and romantic. The whole site is inviting because of the fascinating lights that blended along with the view of the city just below the mountain each night.

Have a HAPPY YUMMY SUNDAY EVERYONE!

I'm not Chinese but I still want to welcome the year of the Tiger! Filipinos are greatly influenced by the Chinese. This is why we also practice some of their beliefs. So I believe that this year would bring me luck since I was born in 1986 which was also the year of the tiger.

The first thing that pops right in our minds whenever we hear that the person is born in the year of the tiger is that he or she might be "stubborn"... Well, that's the negative trait of the animal. Because of this we overlook the fact that tigers are brave and intelligent at the same time for they premeditate on each move... :P ROAR!!!

I didn't know that Dear John, a novel by Nicholas Sparks had existed until I saw the trailer of the upcoming movie last week. I wanted so much to watch it right after I've seen the teaser. But then, I figured I should read the book first. For some reason, I love reading now. Weird?? Because back when I was a kid, I never felt any enthusiast whenever I had to open one of my textbooks. I was a student who relied more on what the professors would discuss because, I absorbed everything better that way.

So, I started reading the book the other night and just finished it yesterday. Part I of the book was really dragging. It dwelt more on the romance between John Tyree and Savannah Ann Curtis. I'm usually not entertained with those kind of things... Which is another weird thing, because I'm a girl. :P But anyways, as I've reached reading Part II of the book, I couldn't let go of it anymore. I felt I had to read it all the way now since everything became interesting. I cried a lot when John found his dad with Asperger's syndrome in a severely weakened state, literally hanging on to his dear life alone in his house when he got back from Germany. I could imagine myself feeling very helpless if I was in his situation. Knowing that your only family is very ill, and you can't be there to take care of him yourself since you're very far away.

As for the outcome of John and Savannah's love story... I was a bit annoyed with the fact that John had been a martyr all through out the relationship. I wish an emotion as strong like that amongst men could really exist in reality. John gave up everything he had to make Savannah happy. Which I think she didn't deserve. But I guess, true love really does that to you. You set yourself aside to make the one you love happy. For some reason, there's this feeling of satisfaction in your side whenever you realize that he or she is smiling because of you...
